Exe Carlton Hotel Budapest ★★★★

Large room, comfy bed. Hotel was very centrally located to attractions on the "pest" side of the city. Great breakfast.

I was disappointed that our booking was transferred to the Exe Budapest Center Hotel due to circumstances beyond the control of management at the Exe Carlton. We were given the same terms as our original booking. Would have liked to stay in the more historical area of Budapest but have no complaints about the accommodations we received or the service provided by the hotel.

I was overcharged for city tax., That I already paid through this booking. Though there was a "free" pick up ride from the airport the person who picked me up I drove to the wrong location, then charged me to drive to the hotel.

We spent 50 Euro to go to the Exe Carlton Hotel Budapest, after we were quoted 44 Euro. The driver dropped us and our luggage at the street above the entrance to the hotel and took off. We dragged our 2 large suitcases & 2 carry-ons down the hill on cobblestoned streets to the main door which had a sign saying this hotel no longer accommodates guests and to call a number. This hotel is closed and we had the hotel Exe Business Centre Hotel send us a cab which cost another 10,000 forents to be taken to that hotel, which honoured our reservation. We also had to drag our 4 suitcases back up the hill to the street to catch that cab. The Exe Carlton has been closed for months and we should have been notified of the change of address long before we made the expensive trip from the airport to the closed hotel and then pay more to go to the hotel that is accepting guests. I will be advising everyone NOT to use Booking.com because of the additional expense, aggravation and stress caused because your records are not current.

Staff was multilingual and very friendly. Very clean and quiet hotel in great downtown location. Room was also very nice for the price.

It is near to all attraction you want to visit, walking distance to all locations. Breakfast was great. Free coffee in the afternoon. You can arrange airport pick-up and drop off. Staff are very helpful.

The location was very good, next to restaurants, shops, buses and of course the Buda Castle. The rooms are clean and quiet.

The pillows were not very comfortable.

Breakfast was great. Location perfect.

Paper cups in the room. I expected normal coffee/tea cups. Cleaning wasn't done properly. The bathroom bin wasn't emptied. Our drinking glasses weren't rinsed/washed.

room had lots of dark furniture and seemed a little cramped for two of us. beds were comfortable and shower was good. Breakfast - items weren't replenished quickly enough and one morning it was difficult to find a clean table to sit at. Location was nice other than few places to choose from to eat within easy walking distance (tho we did find one and it was great).

It is just at the foothills of the “ Chain Bridge “ of Buda side .
